Transition year is a time of learning skills outside the classroom.
This cookery course has been specially created for transition year students.
What will happen?
Students will learn a variety of skills and cover a range of topics both in demonstration and hands-on sessions.
In two busy, fun filled days of cookery demonstrations and hands on sessions you will learn how to make delicious homemade bread, scones, soup, exciting starters, main courses (plus some vegetarian options) and a couple of delectable desserts, a cake, biscuits and your very own pot of jam to take home.
There will be an exciting tour around our organic farm, gardens and greenhouses and the opportunity to learn about fresh herbs and vegetables.
The course will be guided by our expert tutors and you will come away with a repetoire of recipes to use at home or cook for friends and family.
At Ballymaloe Cookery School, we have one tutor with every six students to optimise the learning experience.
We have accommodation available at the cookery school as long as the student is accompanied by an adult. Alternatively there is plenty of accommodation nearby.
