What is Sustainable Eating?

The word sustainable has gone through many changes of meaning over the last few years with the result to everyone seems to have a differnt idea of what it really mean.  Here at Ballymaloe Cookery School, we feel that Sustainable eating is about making the most of nature.  Giving back to the land that produces our food, treating the animals that provide us with meat in a humane and respectful manner.  Ensuring we do not waste the food and using every part of the animal for nutrition and flavour helps us to be Sustainable about our impact on the planet.  Learn how pasture reared animals help to combat climate change by protecting habitats, allowing soil to sequester carbon and taste delicious!

We will concentrate on really delicious recipes that give you and your family a wonderful meal whilst also helping to reduce your impact on the planet.

Learn a little about growing, something we can all do in our back garden (no matter how small) to reduce the carbon footprint of food distribution.
